Constitution and Bylaws - Policy
Student organizations must submit an updated and ratified constitution to CSEI as part of the re-registration process each year. The file must also be loaded to the organization’s “Files” section for the purposes of transparency and so all students can review the document.
To be considered for recognition by CSEI, student organization constitutions must comply with the constitution template found below, including the exact sequence of articles and verbatim language as indicated in the template.
CSEI will review all constitutions to ensure compliance with CSEI policies and procedures, University of Baltimore and University System of Maryland polices, and federal and state laws, as well as to make sure all amendments do not directly benefit currently sitting officers. The review process can take up to 30 days to be completed but are often approved sooner.
CSEI will notify organizations in writing once their constitution is approved. If the constitution is approved during registration, it will automatically be uploaded to the group files page. If the constitution is approved at any other time, the group must upload it to the document area on their organization's Bee Involved page.
