Serve as a Family Member
Family Members work directly with Thread student(s) and other volunteers to form an extended network of care and support around the student and each other. This may include rides to school, homework and resume help, discussion of career options, or just hanging out.
Serve as a Volunteer Leader
Some volunteers take on leadership roles by becoming a Head of Family or Grandparent. These volunteers receive additional training and become guides and coaches for other volunteers. Complete the application below to start the process to become a volunteer leader.
Requirements
All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older
Join us for dinner and a 90 minute session where you’ll learn about Thread and meet our community

Time Commitment
Volunteers make a one-year commitment and are expected to connect with their Thread students at least once a week.
Becoming a Thread volunteer should be very similar to becoming someone’s friend. Spending time with your Thread Family & student is critical for forming deep connections.
