Maryland Citizens Redistricting Commission To Begin Third Round of Public Meetings on October 6

Only 2100 tuned in/participated in the 1st two rounds on Zoom and YouTube.  The deadline for the public to submit maps to the Commission was last Friday, September 24, 2021.  There are 69 map submissions to date. Here is a link to the map submissions being voted on:

[Redistricting is the process of redrawing legislative districts. U.S. House of Representatives, state legislatures, and many local offices are elected from districts.  The 2022 elections, Marylanders will vote on U.S. Congress, Governor, State Executives, State Legislatures, State Judges, and Ballot Measures.]

There will be 4 "Round 3" meetings in October starting Oct. 6, with the final on Oct. 27, 2021. These meetings will discuss the Commission's legislative and congressional maps.  The Citizens Commission will consider comments received about the maps via email (redistricting.commission@maryland.gov) or during commission meetings. Here is the link to the meetings:

Board of Revenue Estimates to Meet Virtually on Thursday Afternoon

-The Board of Revenue Estimates will vote on the revised general fund revenue estimates for fiscal years 2022 and 2023.
- Projections for the current and following fiscal year will give budget writers and lawmakers an overview of economic trends and will provide the foundation for crafting the state budget.
-MD Comptroller Franchot, Treasurer Kopp and Secretary Brinkley will also share their perspectives on the revenue forecasts.


The meeting will be live-streamed on the Comptroller's Facebook and YouTube pages this Thursday, September 30, 2021 @2 p.m.
