Hello HSA Members,
I hope all of you and your love ones are staying safe, sane, and healthy throughout these rapidly changing and confusing events occurring all around us. We are all going through this together and need to support one another. Equally, our semester is ending in just a matter of weeks. With this brings its own changes, by us saying goodbye to a few of our friends, classmates, and members of the Human Services Administration program and Club who are all Graduating, CONGRADULATIONS!! on achieving your bachelor’s degree and with future endeavors.
To our Graduates, I have been able to share the same classrooms with many of you and hearing your perspectives and personal stories, engaged in truly teaching me more about the human experience and why I want to be a Human Service professional. You will all be amazing with helping people to become a more whole version of themselves, because our society will now need more guidance and compassion than ever before. I am glad to be graduating with my exceptional and amazing cohorts, who knows what we will bring to the future.
The second purpose of this email is to reach out to our returning members and inform everyone on an exciting opportunity. I am asking for volunteers to step into the roles of our President and the Treasurer. Our returning member Monique Gibson who is our Secretary and greatly supported the club, will be continuing her role and I appreciate her very much for doing so. I want to personally thank, Natarasha Malone our Treasurer, who came and supported our club and myself in continuing HSA’s great and informative programs. Natarasha stepped up to MC our speaker panel for the marque event, “Domestic Violence Awareness Forum”, which is our biannual event. She will be continuing her matriculation to becoming a Social Worker after she graduates UB this semester, Congratulations!! Therefore, I strongly suggest our club members who inspire to be future leaders to stand up and reap the amazing rewards and benefits of being one of our two needed Executive Board member positions.
Finally, I will be stepping down from the role as President of the Human Services Administration Club, because of graduating myself and matriculating on to a masters at UB. A personal thank you to our wonderful and supportive advisor, Dr. Parkman, who entrusted me to bring our club together and build amazing teams for successful events, such as our amazing team for our marque event, “Domestic Violence Awareness Forum”. I appreciate and have great gratitude for every one of our members who helped, supported, and gave me guidance during my time as President with steering our club onward.
Please email me at joseph.hensgen@ubalt.edu if you are interested in joining our Executive Board.
I want to close by saying, Good Luck on your finals and make sure to schedule a self-care day because we all deserve one.
Sincerely,
Joseph Hensgen- President of the Human Services Administration Club
