The Lounge

The Lounge is a safe space for returning citizens to come together, meet fellow returning citizens, and share any obstacles one may be facing while acclimating back into the community while attending school. The Lounge is a place where returning citizens are warmly welcomed, and can connect through shared conversation and reflection.
The Lounge is facilitated by Rebecca McAfee, a returning citizen, who began her UBalt studies in fall of 2022. As Rebecca shared her story of incarceration she found that there were more people in UBalt’s classrooms that have been personally impacted by incarceration than she had realized.

Joining The Lounge as a returning citizen you will find a community within UBalt that has an understanding of similar obstacles, gain resources to assist acclimation into an academic setting, and network with other returning citizens and professionals that can assist you on your career and academic journey. Refreshments will be provided.
