🌱 Welcome to Spring 2026
Welcome to the Spring 2026 semester! I hope your first week is off to a smooth start and you’re easing back into your rhythm. BSU is excited to kick things off with a full lineup of events that bring our community together and set the tone for a strong semester.
This newsletter will go out every two weeks, so some editions may be a little longer — but I promise to keep them meaningful and worth the read.
Here’s what we have coming up:
🏆 Eubie Awards — Nominate BSU & Our Leaders!
Eubie Award nominations are officially open! This is UBalt’s biggest recognition event of the year — celebrating students, orgs, faculty, and staff who uplift the campus through leadership, service, and community impact.
Since BSU has been rebuilding this academic year after more than five years of inactivity, we’d love your support nominating us for the On the Move Award, which honors newer or re‑emerging organizations making a strong comeback.
You can also nominate any BSU members or other student leaders you admire for awards like:
- President’s Award — Graduating students with a 3.75+ GPA and major campus contributions
- Student Services Award — Graduating students uplifting student life
- Sigma Alpha Omicron Award — Non‑graduating leaders shaping student government or activities
- Beth Mizell Grit Award — Students showing resilience and determination
- Student DEI Award — Leaders advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Rising Star, Mentor of the Year, Mental Health Ally, Bee Engaged, Student Employee of the Year — For students who go above and beyond
If someone inspires you or has supported your UBalt journey, take a moment to recognize them.
