I hope this message finds you well and energized for an exciting semester ahead. As we continue to grow and strengthen our chapter, we are preparing for our upcoming leadership elections — and this is your opportunity to step forward and make an impact.
We are officially opening nominations for the following executive and leadership positions; highlighted positions will work as a team:
- Vice President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Chair of Membership
- Membership Coordinator
- Parliamentarian
- Event Planner
- Event Coordinator
- External Affairs Officer
Serving in a leadership role within SHRM provides invaluable experience in organizational leadership, strategic planning, professional networking, and event management. It also strengthens your resume and expands your visibility within the HR profession.
Whether you are passionate about member engagement, event planning, governance, financial stewardship, or building external partnerships, there is a role that fits your strengths and professional goals. I strongly encourage you to consider nominating yourself or a fellow member who demonstrates commitment, professionalism, and enthusiasm for advancing our chapter’s mission.
Nomination Process:
Please submit nominations to Dr. Weaver (jweaver@ubalt.edu) by February 20, 2026. When submitting a nomination, include:
- Name of nominee
- Position of interest
- A brief statement (150–250 words) outlining qualifications and interest in the role
Elections will be held by March 1, 2026 (via SurveyMonkey or similar tool).
This is an excellent opportunity to shape the direction of SHRM Student Chapter #5191 and leave a legacy. I look forward to seeing many of you step into leadership and continue elevating our chapter.
