Internship Opportunity!!
The Southwest Partnership is looking for an intern interested in real estate development in up and coming markets, who can commit 16-24 hours a week (flexible hours!) for the semester. The intern will learn how the tax sale foreclosure and Receivership processes work in the City of Baltimore and how SWP’s programs attempt to correct systemic issues and how the SouthWest Baltimore neighborhoods are growing and developing! The intern will meet developers of varying experience, do site visits and review applications to evaluate their experience, oversee rehab projects and gain a better understanding of what it takes to rehab and sell rowhouses and commercial properties in distressed real estate markets.
The intern may have an opportunity for some monetary compensation based on experience and skillset. The position involves meeting with the local community members, developers, banks, investors, and government officials to understand the actual real life process of real estate developement for someone looking to get into REED.
If you're looking to answer that "Who/What/Where/Why/How" question you've had about real estate development, THIS is the opportunity for YOU!
This position also offers the opportunity for the Intern to transition, if qualified, into a full-time paid posiiton at the Southwest Partnership working directly with the Executive Director of Real Estate Development.
I just finished this internship(Spring/Summer 2020) and asked to stay on for another semester because of the opportunities it provided. Cannot recommend it enough! The SWP has the coolest group of young professionals that I've had the pleasure of working with.
