About UBalt Mock Trial

  • What is mock trial?

Mock trial combines law, strategy, public speaking, performance, and teamwork. Students work from a fictional case file and prepare both sides of the case for competition.

Competitors serve as attorneys and witnesses, deliver opening and closing statements, conduct direct and cross-examinations, apply rules of evidence, and respond in real time.

  • How does UBalt prepare?

Our team studies the case, develops legal theories, builds witness characters, rehearses examinations, and runs full trial rounds. Feedback and repetition turn preparation into confident performance.

No single major or background defines a strong competitor. We develop each member’s individual strengths while holding the full team to a high standard of preparation and professionalism.

  • What do we stand for?

UBalt Mock Trial is built on accountability, growth, respect, and team culture. We prepare seriously, compete with integrity, and support one another through every round.

Our goal is to develop disciplined advocates and confident leaders while representing the University of Baltimore with excellence.
